Adults- How to Teach Yourself to Play Guitar: 9-Week Course For Adults 14+, Wednesdays 7:30-8:15
We are so excited to have our talented and vibrant friend, Tom Malouf, teaching the course. Years ago, Tom was inspired by the Beatles and the music of the 60’s. Today, he seeks to help adult learners connect with their favorite music as they learn to play guitar. Tom was a long-time Music Director at St. Walter Church and leader of the well-known local band, “Chunky Monkey.” He currently has put together a solo show, “Stuck in the 60’s for Life,” and performs with his musical family.
“How to Teach Yourself to Play Guitar” is a 9-week course taking place Wednesdays from 7:30-8:15pm on the following dates: 8/17, 8/24, 8/31, 9/7, (no class 9/14), 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/12, 10/19. Students have the option to participate in our Fall Outdoor Concert 10/22.
Mr. Malouf will teach the fundamentals of guitar playing while highlighting popular hits and allowing students to learn songs of their choosing. This course will set students on a trajectory where they will be able to choose between moving into private study or continuing to teach themselves guitar at home.
Course Cost:
-$25/session
-$20 supply kit: Hal Leonard Guitar Method Book 1, RoselleFA “Get Musical” bag, pencil, printed instructions, lead sheets, and other materials disbursed throughout the session
